YFCNI is our missionary project. Their aim is to help young people find Jesus, follow Him, and join His family.
This year, we are supporting Youth for Christ Northern Ireland (YFCNI) as our CE Missionary Project. As a home-based project, YFCNI work with young people across different parts of Northern Ireland. They have put together some fantastic resources to use with CE societies of all ages, and have speakersavailable to share more about the work they do.
Youth For Christ Northern Ireland (YFCNI) is a Christian youth charity that hasbeen working with young people right across Northern Ireland for nearly 80 years, as part of a worldwide Youth for Christ movement active in over 120 countries. While they have staff at our centres and projects, they rely on the kindness of volunteers around the country to help our programmes run.
Their vision is to see an unreached generation of young people transformed by the love of Jesus, and their mission is simple: helping young people find Jesus, follow Him, and join His family. In practice, that means running 9 local youth centres and projects across Northern Ireland, doing schools work and assemblies, running drop-ins, trips and events (including their annual small stage venue at the ‘Summer Madness’ festival), and building long- term relationships with young people – particularly those who are vulnerable or disengaged from other support. They believe young people should have a safe place to belong, feel at home, and know they are loved, enabling them to encounter and experience the love of Jesus.
Youth for Christ Northern Ireland have produced a wonderful pack of resources for CE societies to use. You will find resources for Juniors (the Toolkit programme introducing primary school aged children to the Bible, prayer and worship) and Young People (the Overload programme which guides teenagers through feelings, emotions, healthy coping mechanisms, worry, fear and anxiety). These ready-to-go sessions include videos, games and activities for use with CE societies, and there are also information sessions about who YFCNI are and what they do.
